Edwardian Mahogany Armchair, Attributed to Adolf Loos

A rare and important Edwardian mahogany armchair, attributed to the pioneering Viennese architect and designer Adolf Loos (1870–1933).

Loos stands as one of the most significant figures in the history of modern design. His rejection of ornament in favour of pure form — most famously articulated in his 1910 essay Ornament and Crime — placed him decades ahead of his contemporaries and laid the intellectual groundwork for the modernist movement.
